RITO.

Presenting RITO, an innovative material based on eco-resin and metallurgic waste. It was created under the brief of the creation of a corporate gift for CELSA Group using the waste of their own production process. The challenge was addressed through a material-driven design approach, positioning the material as the starting point of the design creative process through 4 main steps:

Understand and characterize the material technically and experimentally; Create a vision for the material experience; Identify patterns in user experience; refine material properties and optimize the material experience for further product development. The final product’s environmental impact was evaluated through Life Cycle Assessment using the LCA software SimaPro.

By transforming industrial waste into a jewel, RITO elevates a discarded material into a symbol of value. Jewelry has long served as a way to express individuality, and RITO was designed to carry this emotional weight, fostering a connection between the user and the company. It was demonstrated that innovation and environmental responsibility can coexist, even in the most traditional industries.
